Open Source License Agreement
Open source software is distributed under a variety of licenses. All the licenses share the attribute of guaranteeing that the code remains open. Tolven software is licensed under the LGPL or Lesser General Public License.
A key long-term goal for adopting the L-GPL is to ensure the Tolven platform and applications are widely adopted and extended by an expanding network of users, developers and partners in a sustainable manner in both academic and commercial settings.
The LGPL is the most business friendly license, as it promotes software freedom without affecting any proprietary software used in conjunction. The LGPL ensures stability and consistency by disallowing proprietary modifications to the core Tolven software.
All open source license types are certified by the Open Source Initiative.
