Tolven Mobile – electronic Personal Health Record
Installation Instructions for Palm Treo 680 Smartphone

Installing and configuring the Tolven Mobile – electronic Personal Health Record for Palm Treo 680 smartphone should take no more than ten minutes.

1.0     Create Personal Health Record Account
Prior to installing the Tolven Mobile - electronic Personal Health Record solution on the Palm Treo 680 you will need to create a Personal Health Record account at http://demo.tolven.org/Tolven. 

2.0     Install KVM and Tolven Software
The Tolven Mobile - electronic Personal Health Record solution is a Java based applications and requires the IBM J9 KVM to be installed on the device for it to run.  Installation instruction and a download for the IBM J9 KVM can be found at the following web-site http://www.palm.com/us/support/jvm/download.html.   

Once the IBM K9 KVM is installed

1. Run the IBM Java VM on your device 
2. Select Install  and enter http://demo.tolven.org/Mobile/tolven.jad
3. Follow the on-screen instructions

3.0     Accessing the Personal Health Record Solution
Once the Tolven electronic Personal Health Record solution is installed on the device it can be launched either from the IBM Java VM or from the application Icon that is created during the installation process.  During the log-in process you will need to input the Username, Password and Account Number that were used when creating your Personal Health Record account. 

For example:

Username:        joe.smith@ispname.com
Password:         *************************
Account:           22101*  

* You can get your account number from the web application in one of two ways:

• As you log in to the web application, a Select Account page displays. Use the account number of the personal account.
• If you are already logged in, select the account preferences link and the account number is displayed in the heading. Be sure you use and account number for a personal account. We'll have clinical supported on the mobile device soon.

Check the “Remember Me” (if desired).  “Remember Me” will not remember your password for security reasons. 

The URL at the bottom of the log-in screen enables a user to redirect this application to connect to another service provider if required.  The URL for the Tolven demonstration system is http://demo.tolven.org/Mobile.

4.0        Using the Application
Use the “Help” function on the “Menu Bar” if assistance is required when using the Tolven Mobile - electronic Personal Health Record solution.

5.0        Updating the Application
Updates to the Tolven electronic Personal Health Record can be installed by:

1. Run the IBM K9 KVM on your device (you do not need to install this again)
2. Select the Tolven application from the list and select “Update” from the Menu
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the latest version of the software from http://demo.tolven.org/Mobile/tolven.jad
